FAQS
Where do you source your honey?
We source our honey from two areas: the Ontario region of Canada & the Obudu region of Nigeria. Our products are labelled clearly with their origin, so you'll know which one is which when you purchase.
The bees have many different types of flowers to choose from. The honey they make is rich, golden and delicious!
Is your honey adulterated?
No. We source our honey from three beekeepers who adhere to very high beekeeping standards while taking care of their bees.
Is your honey pasteurized?
No, we never heat our honey. We strain it to remove any large pieces of honeycomb, and then we infuse the honey with flavors.
What flavors of honey do you have?
Vanilla, lavender, pepper, cinnamon and coffee. Other custom flavors may be available upon request - please email us at hello@nsefishoney.com to discuss a flavor that you would like. We have prepared special flavors in the past for our customers.
What kind of ingredients do you use for flavoring?
Vanilla honey - vanilla beans
Lavender honey - lavender flowers
Pepper honey - African chilis
Cinnamon honey - cinnamon sticks, cloves and star anise seeds
Coffee honey - coffee beans
All these ingredients are strained out before the honey is poured into the jar for sale, except for vanilla beans.
Is honey safe for the whole family?
Generally, yes. Honey is one of the most powerful & beneficial foods on earth. A spoonful of honey will do you more good than a spoonful of sugar. However, please note the following:
*Honey should NOT be given to any child under the age of one year old. There is a risk of botulism for babies under a year old. Please do not give our honey to your babies.
*If you have an allergy to any of our flavours, please refrain from buying that flavor of honey. We try to keep all our production lines separate, but since they are in the same production room there may be some slight but unintended cross contamination.
What sizes do you have?
Our current retail jar size is a 400g jar (subject to change in the future). A bulk order can be requested and we can give you larger containers for this. Just send us an email and we’ll work something out with you.
